A record of arrangements built around what the season offers — foraged branch, spent seed head, a single impossible bloom. Each piece is made once and never repeated.

Arrangements

Orange dahlias, globe thistle and bells of Ireland in a cobalt vase on a fog-covered ridge

Burgundy and rose chrysanthemums with trailing pepperberry in a silver urn

Sarracenia pitcher plants rising from green dianthus and aspidistra in a pale blue bowl

Leucadendron, blushing bride protea and purple amaranthus on a red lacquered stool

The cobalt vase arrangement seen wide, fog closing over the ridgeline behind it

Burgundy chrysanthemums and pepperberry beneath a sunburst mirror on an olive wall

Pink cactus dahlias and looping lily grass against a warm plaster wall

Boutonnière of magenta vanda orchid, bunny tails and pepperberry on a grey shirt

Butter-yellow poppies, viburnum and ornamental kale in dappled afternoon light

Corsage of pink anthurium, oncidium orchid and looped lily grass pinned to denim overalls

Peach carnations, white dahlias and calla lilies in a tall clear vase

Rose Bowl Parade

Grand Marshal's car banked in coral roses and magenta blooms along the parade route

Marigolds and anthurium massed across the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame fire engine

Magenta gerbera daisies, roses and green amaranthus in close detail

Final flowers being set into the fire engine under the build tent

Roses, delphinium and stock wrapping the Tournament of Roses President's car

Blue hydrangea, delphinium and yellow gerbera across a vintage touring car
